Week 6 Blog

1. -What is a rubric? A rubric is a detailed scoring guide for assessment based on stated criteria. -Review the following "rubric creating" website: http://rubistar.4teachers.org/ This website is wonderful! Any teacher can go on there and create an account and they can create their own rubric based on what they are looking for. - Why should teachers use rubrics? Teachers should use rubrics when grading on a project. Teachers should present the rubric to the students before they being their projects so they can understand what the teacher wants out of that project. When can teachers use this website and/or rubrics? Teachers can use this website for any rubric they need to create.
2. -Should teachers evaluate Web resources for instructional value in the same way they evaluate print resources? Yes they should. Why or why not? They should because technology is changing every minute. Having the students rely on the Web can be useful for their future.
3. -Review the Web Site Evaluation Rubric on page 403. Choose any educational website and use the Web Site Evaluation Rubric (p. 403) to evaluate its educational value.

- Reflect and comment on the following statement: "To be successful in integrating technology, teachers must rethink and redesign activities and create new teaching and learning strategies as they actively integrate technology across their curriculum." I think that this statement is true. Teachers need to keep up with the fast paced technology skills that students are learning either by themselves or at home.
